Insurance and payment
We work with most major insurers and offer straightforward self-pay.
Private health insurance
Our paediatricians are recognised by all major UK private health insurers, including Bupa, AXA Health, Aviva, Cigna, Vitality, WPA and Allianz.
- Check your cover with your insurer before booking
- Where your insurer requires pre-authorisation (some don’t), it must be in place before your appointment
- We bill most insurers directly; for Cigna, Aetna and Allianz you pay our fee and claim it back from your insurer
- Some insurers require a GP referral
- Any excess is handled separately
Important: please confirm your cover with your insurer. If they require pre-authorisation, get the number before your appointment and give it to us, so you aren’t seen without it and don’t face unexpected costs.
Self-pay
Clear, fixed consultation fees.
- Initial Appointment: £320 (45 mins)
- Well-Child Check: £320 (45 mins)
- Vaccination Consultation: £170

Note: consultation fees cover the doctor’s time. Any tests (such as blood tests or X-rays) or treatments are charged separately by the hospital or diagnostic centre.
Booking questions
Common questions about booking with Bright Futures Health.
How quickly can I get an appointment?
We typically have same-week availability, and most appointments can be scheduled within 2–5 working days. Occasionally we can see your child sooner — sometimes the same day — if a clinic is already running and a slot is free; call our team and they will tell you what is open. We are not an urgent or emergency service. If your child is unwell and needs to be seen now, please contact your GP or call NHS 111, and 999 in an emergency.
Do I need a GP referral to book?
No, you can book directly with us. Some insurers require a referral for cover, so please check with your insurer first if you’re using insurance.
Can I choose which doctor I see?
Yes. Dr Gray and Dr Burmester both see children at Wimpole Street, at Chiswick and by video. Dr Gray also sees children at The Cromwell Hospital in Kensington. If you have no preference, we’ll book whichever doctor has the earliest availability at the location you choose.
Why does booking Dr Gray at Chiswick take me to HCA’s website?
Dr Gray’s Chiswick appointments are held in HCA’s own diary, so they are booked through HCA’s online system, which shows HCA branding. Your appointment is still with Dr Gray and Bright Futures Health, and our usual fees apply. You don’t need to register with us first. After you book, we’ll email you a registration and consent form to complete before your visit. If you’d rather, call us and we’ll book it for you.
I booked through The Cromwell Hospital or HCA. What happens next?
Your appointment is with a Bright Futures Health consultant. You don’t need to register with us beforehand. We’ll email you a registration and consent form to complete before your visit — it tells us about your child’s health and how you would like to be billed, and includes consent for our clinic notes. If you’re using insurance and your insurer requires pre-authorisation, please get it before your appointment. We invoice self-pay patients after the appointment, and bill most insurers directly; for Cigna, Aetna and Allianz you pay our fee and claim it back from your insurer. To change or cancel, call us on 020 3633 2915.
What should I bring to the appointment?
Your child’s red book (Personal Child Health Record), immunisation records, any relevant reports or test results, insurance details and pre-authorisation number (if applicable), a list of current medicines, and any questions you’d like to discuss.
What are your opening hours?
Our team and clinics run Monday to Friday, 9am–6pm. We do not offer evening or weekend appointments.
What is your cancellation policy?
We ask for at least two working days’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Cancellations with less than two working days’ notice may incur a £120 fee to cover the clinical time reserved for your appointment. We understand things come up — please call us to discuss if you are unable to attend.
Do you offer home visits?
We do not offer home visits. We see children at Wimpole Street, Chiswick and The Cromwell Hospital in Kensington, and we also offer secure video consultations.
Is parking available?
Wimpole Street: street parking and nearby NCP car parks; easily reached by tube (Bond Street or Oxford Circus).
HCA Chiswick Medical Centre: free parking on site.
The Cromwell Hospital: no car park at the hospital. There are meters on Marloes Road and Lexham Gardens and paid car parks nearby; Earl’s Court station is about seven minutes’ walk.
